Welcome to episode 40 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Trick or Tantrum. This is the SCubedPod Halloween Celebration! On this episode, Jay, Dennis and Taxus celebrate Halloween by discussing Joe Schreiber’s Red Harvest, the prequel to Death Troopers while waiting for Trick-or-Treaters. In addition, they discuss the first two episodes of Rebels. However, there is some Star Wars news, listener feedback, and more to cover. So, get ready for episode 40: Trick or Tantrum.

Recent Star Wars News

After a brief discussion of Halloween preparations, the show turns to the news. Although everyone is excited for The Last Jedi, the news focuses on the previously untitled Han Solo movie. Ron Howard announced the title to the film on Twitter and also teased a cameo. Plus, New York Comic Con revealed a sequel to one of Dennis and Taxus’s favorite Star Wars novels from the past year. Dennis, Taxus, and Jay discuss this and more in the news.

Rebels Season Four Arrives

Once the news is over, the Hyperthetical begins with Rebels. Finally, after a long wait, the latest and last season of Rebels is here. The discussion focuses on Sabine’s rescue mission, the discovery of a secret weapon, and the return of Bo Katan. The hosts debate whether Sabine’s weapon could have been used for other purposes, Jay’s fondness for Mandalorians, and the aftermath of the first two episodes.

Red Harvest

The SCubedPod Halloween festivities wouldn’t be complete without a scary story. Therefore, Jay, Dennis, and Taxus dive into a discussion of Joe Schreiber’s Red Harvest. Set during the Old Republic era, a Sith Lord researches the secret of immortality. However, his research has unintended consequences, and a new plague is released on the planet of Odacer-Faustin. The discussion ranges from Darth Scabrous and the Jedi Padawan Hestizo to the strange Neti librarian and Rojo Trace. What did we think of this novel? Tune in and find out.

Silence Fools!

Once the discussion is done, the show turns to some listener feedback in “Silence Fools!” In this edition, Dennis, Jay, and Taxus respond to emails about The Last Jedi trailer.
