Ezra and Sabine steal a TIE Defender Elite which leads to the discovery of Loth-wolves on Lothal and a greater discussion of the TIE Defender project.
As promised at the end of the last episode of Rebels, Ryder takes Ezra and Sabine to scout out the Empire’s new TIE Defender at an airfield. Sabine senses an opportunity to learn more about the Defender by stealing its flight recorder. However, they are soon discovered by Grand Admiral Thrawn and the the Empire and forced to escape in the prototype. Before long, they have crashed landed on Lothal and evading the Empire on foot when they receive aid from a new and unexpected ally: the legendary loth-wolf. This episode of Rebels is a foundational episode for much of the lore surrounding the Force on Lothal and some aspects of the Force in Star Wars.
