Having learned of the dire circumstances on Lothal, Ezra leads the crew of the Ghost back to his homeworld to investigate.
With the most recent seasons of The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch behind us, we return to our re-watch of Rebels. We are picking up with the fifth episode of the fourth and final season of the show. This is a great time to jump in to our coverage of Rebels before Ahsoka premieres this summer.
In this episode, just as Ezra has a vision of his homeworld, Lothal, having been decimated, Mon Mothma gives him a mission to investigate the planet. Naturally, the rest of the crew of the Ghost insists on coming with him. When they arrive at the planet with a little help from a familiar smuggler, they discover Lothal is wracked with pollution from the Empire’s TIE Defender project. The Empire quickly discovers their presence, and the Rebels are running for their lives.
In this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- Ezra’s vision of Lothal and Mon Mothma giving him a mission,
- The return to Lothal and the condition of the planet,
- Ezra and Sabine’s reconnaissance mission to Old Jho’s bar and his fate,
- Hera and Kanan’s quiet moment in the alley, and
- The Imperial pursuit of the Rebels through the sewers.
