Warp Trails: Discovery #4-11 Rosetta

by Warp Trails

Captain Burnham and the crew of the Discovery explore the home world of species Ten-C in the hopes of learning clues useful for first contact.

The U.S.S. Discovery is getting closer and closer to species Ten-C’s front door. One problem remains: nobody knows how to communicate with them, which is essential for first contact. Therefore, Captain Burnham makes the decision to explore a nearby planet that everyone believes to be the home planet for Ten-C. Not everyone is in agreement with this decision. Michael pushes forward with her plan though. Meanwhile, Tarka and Booker make their own plans to infiltrate the Ten-C hyperfield.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How this episode reminds us of “older” Star Trek,
  • What we learned about species Ten-C from Discovery’s mission,
  • Whether Michael Burnham or General Ndoye were correct in their thoughts about this mission,
  • Booker and Tarka’s infiltration of Discovery and their attempt to blind Nora,
  • Saru and T’Rina’s date, and
  • Other interactions among the crew.
