Warp Trails: Discovery #3-12 There Is A Tide…

by Warp Trails

In the season finale, Michael Burnham faces off against Osyraa and the Emerald Chain as Saru tries to establish an understanding with Su’Kal.

Osyraa and the Emerald Chain have captured Discovery and infiltrated Starfleet Headquarters, but when Admiral Vance refused Osyraa’s offer of unification, a battle broke out between Discovery and the rest of the fleet. While Michael Burnham and Booker, Ensign Tilly and the rest of the bridge crew, plus the DOT-23s begin their plan to retake the ship, Saru, Culber, and Adira try to convince Su’Kal to shutdown the holo program on the dilithium planet and leave with them. It is a tense final episode of the season that sets a course for the next season of Discovery. We break it all down on this episode.

On this episode we discuss:

  • The necessity of the monster in Su’Kal’s journey,
  • Su’Kal realizing his role in creating the Burn,
  • Gray’s appearance in the holo program,
  • Michael Burnham and Booker escaping from the torture room,
  • Burnham, Booker, and the Bridge Crew’s attempts to retake Discovery,
  • Ongoing issues between Stamets and Michael,
  • The epilogue of the series, and
  • Speculations where season four of Discovery may go.
