Warp Trails: Discovery #3-04 Forget Me Not

by Warp Trails

With a new crew member aboard, the USS Discovery heads to Trill in hopes of finding answers as to the location of Starfleet. The crew also confronts widespread trauma.

In the last episode, the crew of the Discovery made it to Earth and received a less than warm welcome. However, that was resolved, and now they are headed to Trill to find more clues as to the location of Starfleet. When they arrive there, they get a warm welcome this time, but things quickly take a turn for the worse after a misunderstanding. While Michael Burnham and Adira Tal try to find answers on Trill, Captain Saru, with the aid of Dr. Culber, attempt to offer the crew relief from the stress they have experienced.

On this episode, we discuss:

  • Dr. Culber’s analysis of the crew and his lead in addressing their stress,
  • Captain Saru’s attempts to address the mental condition of the crew,
  • Michael Burnham and Adira Tal’s welcome on Trill,
  • Saru’s dinner party for the bridge crew and what went wrong,
  • Timeline issues we cannot resolve with the show,
  • The PTSD that Lt. Detmer experiences and unleashes,
  • Ensign Tilly’s and Lt. Commander Stamet’s dysfunction in engineering, and
  • The appearance of the Sphere and its attempt to help Saru.
