It’s been a big week for Star Wars Card Trader, with new sets dropping and crazy happenings in and around the app. Joe and Bill are joined by Steven AKA IMVADER to chat about all the new stuff that has been coming out. Each of the new sets are nice in a way, but some (like the new Iridescent Pop set) have so-called “special features.”

In this case, Topps are offering people the ability to get more locks for their cards by selling out the Iridescent Pop insert within the first few hours of the drop. The down side of this strategy is that if the card doesn’t sell out within a few hours after the ‘get more locks’ window ends, then the card doesn’t become able to trade. It’s a bit of a hostage situation, but Topps seems to be looking for a way to free up for trade some of the cards that haven’t sold out in time. The guys also talk for a while about the new Dual and Triple signature inserts, the first of their kind in Star Wars Card Trader. Joe and Steven are fans of the sets, despite the fact that the dual sigs are a pay only option with a twist. $20 for a guarantee of getting a single Dual signature, or pay $1 for a 1:20 shot at pulling one. Price wise, the $1 bundle ends up being a decent deal as you get two cards that are green or orange with a chance at one of them being a 300 count dual sig. The crew agrees that the Dual sig set would have made a killer marathon, but instead having to put together a 19 card set at roughly $20 each just to complete the whole thing and get the award probably has most players on the outside looking in.
