The Deucecast Movie Show #414: See This, Not That – The Oscar Edition

by RetroZap Staff

Oscar nominations are out so what better time to do an episode of See This, Not That – The Oscar Edition.

Award season is in full swing, and Mikey, Dave, and #Twitterless Dr Earl have loved seeing their favorites — Adam Driver, ScarJo, Joaquin, Charlize, and many more — end up with Academy Award nominations (even after some Golden Globe wins!)

And the guys decided to look at all the nominees to figure out what people should see from their body of work (Flo Pugh takes a train! Laura Dern and the dinos!  Tom Hanks lawyers up!  Pacino can’t sleep!) and then… maybe what you should skip (Flo Pugh takes a train!  Joaquin is still here! Margot shouldn’t focus! Brad’s world goes cool!)

It’s a supersized edition of the game “See This, Not That”, where the Deucecast crew goes through all the Best Actor, Best Actress, Supporting, and Best Director Awards and gives their picks for a film you should see, and one you should skip.

The Deucecast podcast, movie

The Deucecast Movie Show is a podcast done by movie fans for movie fans of all kinds. Hosts Mikey, Dave, and featured friend of the show #TwitterlessDrEarl, along with a rotating cast of fun guests, discuss all sorts of movies–from new to old, fantastic to craptastic and everything in between.  Expect themed episodes, feature lists, favorite movies, and tournaments pitting movie against movie or actor against act because we love a good bracket. Play along with movie games like “Denzel” or “The Ryan Philippe Game,” then participate in voting in the annual Deucie Awards and yell at us when someone defends a Damon Wayans movie as “nearly the perfect film.” If you love movies, then you’ll love The Deucecast Movie Show! We love to interact with our listeners so please subscribe to the podcast and send us an email, tweets, and comments as you listen at your leisure. The more the merrier, so thanks for tuning in!
