The Deucecast Movie Show #413: The Not 2019 Top Ten

by RetroZap Staff

It’s that season when a series of episodes look back on 2019, and this week it’s those older movies we watched for the first time last year.

It’s that season of the Deucecast Movie Show, when the series of episodes look back on the previous year… in this case, 2019. But Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl not only watched dozens of films from 2019, they also watched movies from previous years as well!

First up, Birthday Movies, as a review of theatrical releases from January of 2015, 2010, 2005 and five years back and back and back.  Who knew that Blackhat was five years old? Or that My Dog Skip turns 20 years old? And the Falcon turns 35, as well as his buddy, The Snowman.

Then, the crew invites in crowd fave, Indie Autuer himself, Jeremy Burgess, for a little movie making chit-chat, some clarification about what the Best Boy actually does, and then the favorite films seen in 2019 that weren’t actually from 2019.

Movies like A Star is Born, or at least some version of it… Burgess gives Soderburgh some love, while Dave goes all in on Baumbach… #TwitterlessDrEarl free’s Solo… Dave murders a ball… Burgess attacks a block… and Mikey laments being ordinary people…

The Deucecast Movie Show is a podcast done by movie fans for movie fans of all kinds. Hosts Mikey, Dave, and featured friend of the show #TwitterlessDrEarl, along with a rotating cast of fun guests, discuss all sorts of movies–from new to old, fantastic to craptastic and everything in between.  Expect themed episodes, feature lists, favorite movies, and tournaments pitting movie against movie or actor against act because we love a good bracket. Play along with movie games like “Denzel” or “The Ryan Philippe Game,” then participate in voting in the annual Deucie Awards and yell at us when someone defends a Damon Wayans movie as “nearly the perfect film.” If you love movies, then you’ll love The Deucecast Movie Show! We love to interact with our listeners so please subscribe to the podcast and send us an email, tweets, and comments as you listen at your leisure. The more the merrier, so thanks for tuning in!
