Scum & Villainy Cantina

The secretive Scum &Villainy Cantina pop-up bar located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is getting a permanent location! The bar is, of course, based on the Mos Eisley Star Wars cantina–it features a similar decor, plus a geeky menu and drinks. Costumes have always been encouraged. No tickets will be needed at the permanent location, everyone is able to have access. The bar will be located at 6733 Hollywood Blvd, so go check out the pop-culture pop-up!

Star Wars: Episode IX has a new writer–Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) has signed on to re-tool the script for the film. Thorne is rewriting the script based on a draft from the film’s director, Colin Trevorrow, and his writing partner Derek Connolly. There’s nothing known about the script at this time. Episode IX is due for release May 24, 2019.

The Defenders

More pictures and a new poster from Netflix this week for The Defenders! The pictures feature some heavy hitters–Jessica Jones, Stick, Elektra, Madame Gao, and many other familiar faces. The Defenders arrive on Netflix August 18.

Star Wars Virtual-Reality

Disney announced another big Star Wars project this week–it will have virtual-reality experiences in it’s Disney malls! The attractions will be walk-through virtual-reality experiences created by a company called The Void. According to The Void, the “guests will move freely throughout the untethered, social and multisensory experience as they as they interact and engage with friends, family and Star Wars characters.” Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire will be coming to Downtown Disney in Anaheim, CA, and another will be in Disney Springs near Orlando. The experiences are set to open sometime this holiday season.
