The Dark Tower

Alright gunslingers, the first trailer for The Dark Tower is here! The trailer is intense and filled with action. Idris Elba stars as Roland Deschain, the last Gunslinger, who is fighting an epic battle with The Man in Black, played by Matthew McConaughey. Roland must keep the Man in Black from destroying the Dark Tower, preventing the universe from collapsing. There is much more to the story, however. Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) has visions of this battle, and while others think he is dreaming, Jake knows it is real. He ventures from Earth into Mid-World, and ends up joining forces with Roland. The film looks exciting and entertaining, even if viewers have not read the Stephen King books. The Dark Tower opens August 4, 2017.

The Defenders

Netflix delivered the first trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders this week–and it looks great! The four New York heroes, Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones), realize they must work together to fight a common enemy, The Hand. Sigourney Weaver joins the cast as Alexandria, a villain in the series. The Defenders promises plenty of intrigue and action for sure. The show is set for eight episodes for release August 18, 2017.

Inhumans

The first officail picture for Marvel’s new tv series Inhumans debuted this week. This series has been in production for quite some time, but seems to be getting started. The image features the Inhuman Royal Family: Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Medusa (Serinda Swan), Crystal (Isabelle Cornish), Maximus (Iwan Rheon), Karnak (Ken Leung), and Gorgon (Eme Ikwuakor). Inhumas is set for IMAX release on September 1, then the series will follow on ABC this fall.

Bladerunner 2049

Two new posters for the upcoming Bladerunner 2049 have arrived! The posters feature the films two stars, Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling–Ford in the sand, Gosling in a frozen wasteland. Along with the posters, the official Twitter page for the film indicates a trailer for the movie will debut at the beginning of Alien: Covenant. Bladerunner 2049 is set for release October 6, 2017.
