Welcome to episode 53 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Voice of Hera. On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Taxus detour from the Road to Solo to chat about Rebels with the voice of Hera herself, Vanessa Marshall. Before they get get to their discussion with Vanessa, they dive into recent Star Wars news, and Taxus has another edition of “Skystalking.” Welcome to episode 53: The Voice of Hera.

 

Recent Star Wars News

The news begins with a discussion of a new, Ewok-centric update headed to Star Wars Battlefront II. Then the discussion turns to the official trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus share their reactions and favorite moments from the trailer and Taxus shares a concern. The news concludes with a roundup of other updates in the Star Wars universe including the premier date for Solo and the announcement of the second unit director for Episode IX.

 

Skystalking

After the news, Darth Taxus presents another edition of “Skystalking.” Taxus has information on where you can find the likes of Ray Park, Joonas Suotamo, and Ashley Eckstein in May. In addition, he has the rundown of Star Wars celebrities appearing at Phoenix Comic Fest.

The Voice of Hera

Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels had the privilege of chatting with Vanessa Marshall, the voice of Hera Syndulla herself. Jay, Taxus, and Dennis discuss Vanessa’s performance of Hera’s French accent, Hera’s future, and Vanessa’s favorite Hera collectibles. In addition, Vanessa discusses how the cast learned of the death of a major character on the show and the importance of that event to the larger Rebels story.

Kiss, Marry, Freeze

With the blessing of Johnamarie Macias of TheWookieeGunner.com, Jay conducts a game of “Kiss, Marry, Freeze” in which Dennis, Darth Taxus, and Jay each taking turns deciding who, if forced to make the choice, they would rather commit to or have nothing to do with. The choices are interesting and the decisions are a little surprising in some cases.

Silence Fools!

Finally, the show turns to some listener feedback and community news in “Silence Fools!” In this edition, the Scoundrels discuss their latest Twitter poll concerning Star Wars starships and introduce a new poll topic for the next episode..
