Solo: A Star Wars Story

With the film’s release coming soon in May, fan were worried that nothing had come out about Solo: A Star Wars Story. But have no fear–this week rolled up and BOOM! More content than expected! First up, a fantastic teaser trailer on Super Bowl Sunday, followed by a full trailer the next day. The trailer has me super excited for this film! Check it out below, and read Kendall Schroeder’s excellent teaser trailer breakdown at RetroZap.com!

Not only was this an awesome start to the week, but Entertainment Weekly has been dropping film photos and actor interviews! There are interviews with Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), and Emilia Clarke (Qi’ra). There are colorful character posters too! This film is going to be amazing! Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25.

Star Wars

Even more breaking Star Wars news this week–HBO’s Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be writing and producing a new series of movies! According to StarWars.com, “These new films will be separate from both the episodic Skywalker saga and the recently-announced trilogy being developed by Rian Johnson, writer-director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” There are no dates set for the films yet, nor are there any directors lined up. One thing is for sure, there will plenty more Star Wars in the near future!

Deadpool 2

Deadpool vs. Cable! The new trailer for Deadpool 2 introduces Cable (Josh Brolin), Deadpool’s nemesis. The trailer starts of very serious, but in true Deadpool fashion transforms into a light comedy featuring toy ‘Sheriff’ Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) fighting toy Cable. Check out the trailer and all of the action, and jokes! Deadpool 2 comes out May 18.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Super Bowl Sunday also featured a haunting new trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The trailer is pretty spooky–no one wants a dinosaur stalking them in the bedroom! This trailer is down-right frightening at points, which is great! The film will feature Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) returning to Jurassic World to save some dinosaurs, but what happens when the bring them home? Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters on June 22.

Westworld Season 2

“Look at this world, this beautiful world. We built this world together. A world where dreams come true, a wold where you can be free. But this world is a lie.”  After more than a year, Westworld is coming back! In the new trailer, it seems things will not be going well for the humans that created Westworld. The trailer doesn’t give much information on exactly what is going to happen, but it looks amazing. The new chapter of Westworld comes to HBO April 22.

Jessica Jones Season 2

Belly up to the bar–Jessica Jones returns next month! A brand new trailer for season 2 shows Jessica (Krysten Ritter) digging into her past, more specifically the accident that killed her family and gave her superpowers. On top of trying to figure out her past, Jessica is faced with some type of murder spree happening in New York and somebody trying to take over Alias Investigations. The trailer is dark and secretive, much like Jessica herself. Jessica Jones Season 2 begins on Netflix March 8.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

“Your mission, should you choose to accept it….I wonder, did you ever choose not to?” Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) must deal with the consequences of his past missions and his organization fighting against him. The action packed trailer features the IMF team together again, plus newcomer Henry Cavill. Mission: Impossible – Fallout hits theaters July 27.

Venom

The long-awaited teaser trailer for Venom is here! While there isn’t very much to the trailer (is is just a teaser), there are some interesting things happening. There is a lab and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) seems to be getting experimented on perhaps. There’s a brief glimpse of the symbiote, but no view of Venom yet. Check out Jason Flatt’s trailer breakdown at RetroZap.com here! The movie is set for October 5.
