Skywalking Through Neverland #199: Rian Johnson Exclusive, Paul Warren & Space Gary

Our exclusive audio of Rian Johnson comes from a screening of American Graffiti at LACMA (LA County Museum of Art) where they invite a director to choose a film that has influenced them. For this Director’s Series LACMA hosted a screening of the film, followed by a 45 minute discussion with Rian Johnson. He talked about the influence of George Lucas, films like American Graffiti and what led Rian to make the decisions he made while writing and directing The Last Jedi. It’s fascinating.

The heart of this episode is a fantastic interview with Creature Performer Paul Warren (sometimes known as skinny Steve Rogers, the Quidditch playing Harry Potter and Varmik from Star Wars: The Force Awakens) But these days you can see him in Star Wars: The Last Jedi holding none-other than – Space Gary! He has so many stories from the sets of these films, so listen in to hear about behind-the-scenes movie magic.

John Williams will be scoring Episode IX, plus the theme to Solo: A Star Wars Story!! Time to chat about the maestro and what this means for the Star Wars Universe.
