Ready Player One
The latest trailer for Steven Spielberg’s film adaptations of Ernest Cline’s book Ready Player One brings the film down to Earth, at least a little bit. Most of the previous trailers focus on the Oasis–the virtual world the characters basically live in. The newest trailer, while still referencing pop culture at every turn, shows the grim details of reality. There are the hobbled buildings, a real war, and a life and death battle. Check out the trailer and get ready for pop culture action! Ready Player One opens March 29.
Cobra Kai
“Mercy is for the weak.” The Karate Kid saga continues! Cobra Kai, a new series from Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine), Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar) will debut this year on YouTubeRed. The series will follow Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) re-opening the Cobra Kai dojo. He wants to team up with former fighter Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) to teach new students, but Daniel wants no part in it. Xolo Mariduena (Parenthood) will be the character focus who Johhny takes under his guidance. Check out the first teaser trailer here.
Pacific Rim Uprising
Another new trailer for the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising! The trailer is big Kaiju versus big Jaegers–exactly what is expected from the movie! Plenty of action scenes and dramatic music, this film looks pretty cool. Check out John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) in Pacific Rim Uprising March 23.
Kitty Pryde Spin-Off
Reports are saying that Brian Michael Bendis and Deadpool director Tim Miller are teaming up to make a Kitty Pryde X-Men film! While there are not any clues to what the storyline might be, at least there is now hope that the long rumored spin-off may actually occur. Could be an interesting film, given the right script and actress. Here’s hoping!
