Podcast Stardust turns to the world of Star Wars comics with a discussion of the first half of the story of Ben Solo’s fall to the dark side of the Force as he becomes Kylo Ren.
The Rise of Skywalker brought about the conclusion to Ben Solo’s story arc. However, what about the beginning? In The Force Awakens, Star Wars audiences learned that the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia fell to the dark side under the influence of Snoke. After that, though, the story is largely a mystery. Charles Soule set out to provide the details in his Marvel mini-series, The Rise of Kylo Ren. On this episode of Podcast Stardust, Dennis and Jay discuss the details revealed in issues one and two.
On this fully armed and operational podcast, we discuss:
- The immediate aftermath of the Ben’s fateful confrontation with Luke Skywalker,
- The destruction of the Jedi temple,
- Snoke’s advice for Ben,
- The Knights of the Ren and the details of their history,
- How Ben identifies Luke as a “legend” and how this relates to The Last Jedi, and
- Snoke’s long game in subtly pushing Ben to the dark side.
