Podcast Stardust #392: Rebels – Trials of the Darksaber – 0315

by Podcast Stardust

Sabine takes up the Darksaber in the hope of uniting the Mandalorians. However, Kanan forces her to confront her inner demons first.

After consulting Fenn Rau, Kanan and Hera ask Sabine to take up the Darksaber. They hope she can wield it, and by doing so, she can unite the Mandalorians. They would make a powerful ally for the Rebellion in their war against the Empire. Although Sabine is reluctant to do it, she agrees. However, before she can master the Darksaber, she has to confront her demons and her history with her family.

In this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:

  • Tiya Sircar’s performance as Sabine in this episode of Rebels,
  • How the history of the Darksaber is expanded in this episode,
  • How this episode enhances our understanding of The Mandalorian,
  • Hera reminding Kanan that this task isn’t about him, and
  • Sabine’s history with her family and her reason for exile from Mandalore.
