Chopper meets an Imperial inventory droid, AP-5. As the two share their war stories, they develop a friendship and find a way to aid the Rebellion.
Over the course of season two of Rebels, each member of the crew of the Ghost has had an episode that featured their story. That is each member except Chopper. However, on episode 19 of season two, Chopper finally gets his turn. When the crew of the Ghost conducts a raid on an Imperial fuel depot, Chopper gets distracted by a vendor selling a replacement droid strut. Soon after that, he finds himself left behind and evading the Empire. When he takes refuge on an Imperial cargo ship, he soon strikes up a friendship with an Imperial inventory droid, AP-5. Before long, these two are taking over the ship and trying to get back to the Rebellion.
On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- Chopper discovering the matching strut at the Ugnaught’s shop,
- AP-5 and Chopper sharing their military history,
- The carefully balanced humor of this episode,
- How Hera and the rest of the crew of the Ghost are surprised that Chopper actually made a friend, and
- Chopper and AP-5’s plan to save the Rebellion.
