Podcast Stardust #236: Rebels – The Protector of Concord Dawn – 0213

by Podcast Stardust

Kanan and Sabine disagree on the best way of handling a clan of Mandalorians that stand in the way of the Rebels acquiring a new hyperspace route.

The Rebels continue building their fleet and resources, but they need more ways to evade the Empire and our searching for new hyperspace lanes. When Sabine suggests a route the Concord Dawn system, that means they will come up against Mandalorians. After Hera’s attempt at a diplomatic approach to the problem fails, Kanan takes up her mission but must also deal with Sabine, who is out for revenge in the Mandalorian tradition.

On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:

  • Hera’s decision to pursue a diplomatic solution with the Mandalorians,
  • Kanan following the path of the Jedi in negotiating with Fenn Rau,
  • A tie-in to the Kanan comic published at about the same time this episode aired,
  • Sabine’s desire for revenge and more clues to her Mandalorian history,
  • The structure of Mandalorian culture, and
  • A sneaky Easter egg on Hera’s ship.
