The High Republic is finally here. On this episode, we discuss the first novel by Charles Soule: Light of the Jedi. A Great Disaster strikes hyperspace, and the Jedi rally to save Hetzel Prime from the debris that emerges. However, the rescue mission leads to a new mystery: who are the Nihil? Striking from an unknown base using techniques the Republic doesn’t understand, these marauders strike fear in the Outer Rim. The threat of the Nihil must be addressed as the Republic expands and prepares to launch Starlight Beacon.
On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- Overall impressions of Light of the Jedi,
- Our favorite new Jedi characters,
- How each of the Jedi perceive the Force,
- The background of the Nihil,
- Marchion Ro’s plans and schemes for the Nihil,
- Mari San Tekka, the paths, and “The Great Disaster,”
- The Jedi acting to save Hetzel Prime,
- The battle between the Jedi and the Nihil, and more.
