We begin our discussion of From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back with a look at the portion of the book that discusses the events on Hoth.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, Del Rey and Lucasfilm publishing released an anthology of stories that re-tell the story of the movie from the perspective of more than 40 characters. These characters were the extras and other characters that didn’t play a large onscreen role. On this episode of Podcast Stardust, we begin our discussion of this book with a look at the stories that were inspired by Hoth.
On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:
- Our overall opinions on From a Certain Point of View,
- Some of favorite stories from the portion of the book covering the Battle of Hoth,
- “Eyes of the Empire” by Kiersten White,
- “Ion Control” by Emily Skrutskie,
- “She Will Keep Them Warm” by Delilah S. Dawson,
- “Rogue Two” by Gary Whitta,
- “Beyond Hope” by Michael Moreci,
- “The Truest Duty” by Christie Golden, plus
- The narration of some of the audiobook narrators.
