Podcast Stardust #161: Clone Wars – Chapters 14-16

by Podcast Stardust

Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars turns its attention to Yoda and Padmé Amidala as they head to Ilum for a rescue mission.

Our ongoing look at Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars continues. This week, Yoda senses trouble on Ilum after Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee are attacked by Separatist droids in the Jedi temple that contains the Jedi’s Kyber crystals. However, there is just one problem, he is aboard Senator Amidala’s ship and must convince Captain Typho that Padmé will be safe.

On this fully armed and operational episode, we discuss:

  • The differences between Clone Wars and The Clone Wars where Ilum is concerned,
  • The code Luminara Unduli recites regarding Kyber crystals, lightsabers, and Jedi,
  • Yoda’s use of a Jedi mind trick on Captain Typho,
  • Padmé’s decision to follow Yoda without telling Captain Typho,
  • Yoda’s combat against the chameleon droids and how it compares to his fight against Asajj Ventress’s droids in The Clone Wars, and
  • Padmé’s iconic look in these chapters.
