Life finds a way! Jeff Goldblum is set to return to the dinosaur franchise in 2018’s upcoming Jurassic World 2. Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, mathematician and dino island survivor from two previous films. There’s not much more known about the movie right now, but it is currently filming. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning, and J.A. Bayona is directing. Jurassic World 2 opens June 22, 2018.

 Kingsman: The Golden Circle

The trailer for the sequel to 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service has arrived–and it is awesome! Director Matthew Vaughn returns for the second film, as does star Taron Egerton, for a fun,  action-packed spy adventure. Things are not looking so good for the Kingsman service, and with their headquarters destroyed they must go up against a spy organization from the U.S. known as the Statesmen. Plus, Harry (Colin Firth) returns?! New faces are joining the cast, including  Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, and Channing Tatum. Quite the list! Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on September 22.

Disney and Lucasfilm News

There is now a date for Star Wars: Episode IX! While the new films have previously come out around Christmas, Episode IX is poised for a May 2019 release date. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the final episode will get released Memorial Day weekend, May 24, 2019. And in more Lucasfilm news–Have you been jonesing for a new Indiana Jones movie? Harrison Ford returns as the adventurous archaeologist in a fifth film, set for July 20, 2020, with Stephen Spielberg as director. Excellent films abound!

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

By the power of Grayskull! The He-Man film has a new writer, David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Blade). Sony announced this week that Goyer is now helming the project, with hopes he will bring in big stars for main roles, and a big name director as well. While the film does have a release date, December 18, 2019, the project is still in the infancy stages.
