Celebration Orlando

Star Wars Celebration Orlando is less than a month away, and news is still coming on guests! This week it was announced that Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Riz Ahmed (Bodi Rook) are confirmed for the event.  The two will be signing autographs, but no word on if they will appear on any panels. Check out the list of attendees here. Star Wars Celebration Orlando is April 13-16.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Time for more fun with a clip from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! The short tv preview released this week features all the classic non-heroes, plenty of action sequences, and another great song–“Come a Little Bit Closer” by Jay & the Americans. And plenty of baby Groot. The film hits theaters May 5th.

Game of Thrones

Ignoring the failed ‘ice melting’ Facebook Live announcement, there is some interesting Game of Thrones news this week. Season 7 of the HBO series will premiere this summer on July 16th. A short trailer for the new season was released as well. While there’s no new footage in the trailer, there are flashbacks (from all past seasons of the show) and some brief new dialogue.  As for Season 8, the final season, the news is it will only be six episodes long, thus bringing an end to the saga in Westeros.

American Gods

Coming next month to Starz is American Gods, a series based on the bestseller by Neil Gaiman. The new trailer released this week is very intriguing. There’s plenty of fantasy mixed with horror, and a very interesting storyline. The cast includes Ian McShane, Crispin Glover, Cloris Leachman, Orlando Jones, Kristin Chenoweth, and many more. American Gods premieres April 30 on Starz.

Doctor Who

A brand new trailer for this upcoming season of Doctor Who dropped this week! There is tons of footage in the trailer, which features Peter Capaldi in his last season as the Doctor. It’s got Cybermen, warriors, and of course the sonic screwdriver. Plenty of action seems afoot for the new season, which begins April 15.

Box Office

Quite a big week for the U.S. box office thanks to some fantasy, comic, and action films! Kong: Skull Island topped the box office with $61 million on the weekend alone. Logan followed close by in it’s second week at $38.1 million. Get Out is still holding strong at $20.7 million. Another big weekend is in store as Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast featuring Emma Watson debuts this Friday, March 17.
