Animaniacs S01E56

Each and every week, your hosts revisit an episode of the series in the order in which they first premiered. They discuss their favorite jokes, gags, and discuss all the cultural references they can find! Each episode is then given a “Water Tower Rating” by the hosts. How many water towers will this episode get?

“Schnitzelbank”

First, the Warners sing a song with Professor Otto von Shnitzelpusskrankengescheitmeyer and end up embarassing him so much he kicks them out of his town. The hosts discuss the differences between the version of the song found on this episode and the one featured on the first Animaniacs soundtrack album.

“The Helpinki Formula”

Next, the Brain comes up with a formula which will shrink humans to a size smaller than mice! Then they can take over the world. In order to convince people to use the formula, they go on various infomercials to sell the product. Unfortunately Pinky puts too much on Laytoya Jackson which creates a horrific chain reaction… Swiss yodelers everywhere!

“Le Bouton et la Ballon”

Then, Mindy and Buttons are in France in an entirely French cartoon! Mindy chases a red balloon through Paris and Buttons follows. This wonderful Mindy and Buttons cartoon is a salute to the classic short film, “Le Ballon Rouge.”

“Kung Boo”

Finally, Chicken Boo appears in a parody of the movie, “Karate Kid.” Unfortunately before he can beat the opponent, he chases after a grasshopper and loses his clothes in the process.
