Animaniacs S01E44

Each and every week, your hosts revisit an episode of the series in the order in which they first premiered. They discuss their favorite jokes, gags, and discuss all the cultural references they can find! Each episode is then given a “Water Tower Rating” by the hosts. How many water towers will this episode get?

The Senses Song

The Warners sing a catchy tune about our five senses as well as countless other senses we have as well!

The hosts discuss their favorite lines and moments of this song, as well as songs which are very similar, including “An Irish Ballad” by Tom Lehrer and “Tarantella Napoletana.”

The World Can Wait

The Brain shocks Pinky when he tells him that he doesn’t want to take over the world because he’s in love! The episode focuses on Brain’s efforts to woo Billie the mouse with Pinky’s help. Unfortunately for Brain, Billie is zapped with electricity and becomes smarter than he is! He goes back to his plans to take over the world before Billie takes it over first!

The hosts discuss their favorite moments in this sweet and very different Pinky and the Brain cartoon. Connections to “Roxanne” and “Born Yesterday” are also made.

Kiki’s Kitten

Rita is grabbed out of an alley by two scientists and placed in a gorilla cage with Kiki the gorilla in an attempt to placate the ape. What follows is a very different Rita and Runt cartoon with much more slapstick and far less singing. Does it work? Reasonably well!

Several pop culture references are explained and some connections to other movies are made. “Young Frankenstein” and of course “Star Wars” are brought up in conversations. Hey, it’s what we do!

Listener Feedback
