Alien Covenant

Warning: Do not watch this new trailer in the dark.  The eerie new trailer for Alien Covenant dropped this week, and boy it’s a good one. The premise is described–a crew of couples sent to a new planet from Earth. David the robot (Michael Fassbender) is with them on a planet much like the one from Prometheus. And of course, things are not going to go as planned. The trailer gives a good look at the aliens, a smaller, quick one, and the big agile xenomorphs. This is going to be one heck of an addition to the Alien franchise. Alien Covenant arrives in theaters on May 19th.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

On to a more up-beat, fun film! A new trailer for the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released, this time featuring Papa Star-Lord, Kurt Russell. Russell will play Peter Quill’s father, Ego. The trailer features tons of action, space battles, alien battles, even family battles. There’s plenty of Rocket, more shots of the new additions to the group, and everyone’s favorite, Baby Groot. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out May 5th.

Justice League

Director Zack Snyder has given fans a sneak peak this week at Aquaman from Justice League. A very short sneak peak that is, and seems that it may have been a visual effects test of some kind. Synder posted a brief six second clip on social media, plus there’s no sound to it. The clip shows Aquaman (Jason Momoa) swimming in his ocean kingdom. There’s not much more to the clip, but at least it’s interesting. Justice League is set for release November 17, 2017.

Okja

Coming soon to Nextflix this June is director Bong Joon Ho’s fantasy film, Okja. This week the first teaser trailer for the film dropped, and the new clip shows a bit of the mysterious character Okja. The movie is about a young girl living in South Korea with a “massive animal” (Okja). The two are best friends, and when Okja disappears the girl does everything she can to find her friend. The film stars Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhal, Steven Yeun, Paul Dano, Lily Collins and many others. Okja will premier on Netflix globally in June.

Mindhunter

More Netflix news–the first trailer for director David Fincher’s new drama series called Mindhunter debuted this week. The show will be set in 1979 and focuses on two FBI agents who interview imprisoned serial killers to help them crack unsolved cases. It will feature actor Jonathan Groff (Boss, Glee, Looking) as special agent Holden Ford, and Holt McCallany (Jack Reacher, Sully) as agent Bill Tench. The series is based on the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. Mindhunter will premiere on Netflix in October this year.
