Michael Giacchino steps in:

Due to those now “infamous” re-shoots for Rogue One, Michael Giacchino will be taking over the composing duties from Alexandre Desplat. Surprisingly this move has not seemed to completely blow up the internet. Thank goodness. The switch comes from scheduling conflicts in the composers’ schedules. Giacchino has worked on numerous other film and television projects most notably the JJ Abrams revitalized Star Trek as well as the TV show Lost. I’m really interested to see what he does with the score, hoping that this film re-introduces a lot of the famous Death Star themes that were featured in A New Hope. Thematically, that would make sense.

Death Star DLC:

Finally the it’s time to take on the Death Star! (virtually) On Friday it was announced with that trailer above that the expansion will be releasing September 20th for Season Pass owners and two weeks later for the rest of the public. There is a lot of new things to unpack in the trailer. New maps, all new game mode, new weapons, new Star Cards, and new Heroes. Chewie and Bossk have long been announced to be the new Heroes. The new game mode is called Battle Station that takes place in three different phases. Five all new maps including Imperial Blockade, Defense Sector, Power Sector, Command Sector, and the Death Star Surface. The new weapons include the K-16 Bryar Pistol and the TL-50 Heavy Repeater. The Laser Trip Mine and Medical Droid are the new Star Cards.

The biggest change has the level cap expanding from level 70 to level 90! With this change it also introduces four new outfit customization options. The X-wing pilot suit and Rebel Officer are available for the Rebels with Death Star Trooper and Imperial Officer being available for the Imperials.

Yoda comic story:

In an article posted Friday on StarWars.com, Dan Brooks chatted with Jason Aaron, writer of the Star Wars comic series. Jason announced the next upcoming story arc in the series will be a full arc centered around Yoda. If you’ve been reading the main series you’ll know that each story arc is segmented by an Obi-Wan one-shot. These issues are told in the form of Luke reading pages from Obi-Wan’s journal. He retrieved if from Obi-Wan’s old hut earlier in the series. Aaron decided to take it up a notch this time. Deciding it was feasible to make this into a full arc featuring a tale about Yoda from the journal. You can read the details in the full interview and look for the story starting with issue #26.

Pablo Hidalgo interview:

Last week on the Star Wars Show, the guest was none other than Pablo Hidalgo. I’m sure you know who he is. The full interview is above, featuring Andi and Pablo. The two go on to discuss a myriad of topics. How Pablo started at the company, growing up playing role-playing games, and working with the Story Group. The man knows his Star Wars and I am certainly glad to have him working on the stories.
