ILMxLAB virtual reality is coming to Celebration Europe, the Bespin Battlefront DLC info revealed and Daisy Ridley continues to be amazing.

By Mike Audette //  Considering that E3 is happening this week, it should be no surprise that there is plenty of gaming news. The Bespin DLC for Battlefront was announced. ILMxLAB virtual reality will be at Celebration Europe. But then Daisy Ridly comes along and sends out one remarkable Instagram post. Read on for more.

BespinDLC

Announced on Thursday, the all-new key art for the new Bespin DLC for Battlefront shows the favorite “City in the Clouds.” This looks just awesome. While this isn’t reflective of the actual gameplay that will be coming, it certainly is breathtaking, featuring the Millennium Falcon, Slave 1, X-wings, TIE fighters, and the famous Cloud City twin-pod cars. As announced a few months back, Lando and Dengar will be the new hero and villain characters coming for this DLC update. Lando will be equipped with the new X-8 Night Sniper blaster, while Dengar will come through with the DLT-19 which makes him the first villain character to utilize a heavy blaster. According to the release from EA, it looks like will feature two new blasters, the aforementioned X-8, and the new EE-4. From my extensive and exhaustive research (Wookieepedia), the EE-4 is not a blaster or weapon that has previously existed. I’m very interested to see what kind of weapon it is, something close to the EE-3 would be cool since that is my blaster of choice in game. It has been known that the new Bespin maps will support the large-scale game modes like Walker Assault and and Supremacy. I can’t begin to imagine what it will look like with an AT-AT lumbering through the city.

As it is becoming the norm, The Star Wars Show revealed on Wednesday that the new virtual reality program from Industrial Light and Magic, known as ILMxLAB, is coming to Celebration London. The innovative VR experience allows you to play out a Star Wars story as a padawan on Tatooine, called Trials on Tatooine.  Virtual reality is making big waves in the entertainment and video game worlds, and things like this prove that ILM and Lucasfilm will always be leaders in technology and on the forefront of maximizing entertainment value. The ILMxLAB will have its own booth on the show floor at Celebration where attendees will be able to experience Trials on Tatooine.

I am incredibly jealous. In addition to the room-sized VR experience on the floor, there will be an ILMxLAB panel with creators and producers of the title. Coming in the fall, Playstation is releasing its own virtual reality system linked to the PS4, and Battlefront is one of the titles that will be featured in its first wave of content releases. Good lord, that is going to be amazing. (I will be accepting any and all donations for the “Get Mike PSVR Foundation.”)

Daisy Ridley isn’t the biggest social media maven in pop culture right now, but that doesn’t stop her from using it as a positive tool to promote social awareness and an empower herself and others. This week she posted this image and caption on Instagram.

Daisy is very open with the things she’s experienced in her life and other struggles. The story above is about endometriosis; it’s a glimpse into her personal life that she feels comfortable enough to discuss openly now that she has this platform. If she can help at least one person with their struggles, it’s a success.

She also posts videos such as this one, which she labels #FitnessFriday, where she shows off all of the physical training she embarks on for Episode VIII.

Daisy Ridley could kick my ass and there would be nothing I could do about it. I definitely recommend following her on Instagram or liking her Facebook page.
